Balloon Flight Sussex

Virgin Balloon Flights have several launch sites in Sussex and the surrounding counties, which may differ from our previous Southern Flights locations. See their website for an up-to-date launch sites list.

Our Sussex balloon ride launch site is just north of Petworth in West Sussex. During your hot air balloon flight you may see large country estates nestling in the South Downs National Park, at Cowdray Park and others along with great views of the coast and the Isle of Wight from your wicker basket. On a sea breeze the wind may blow the balloon inland to touch down at Dunsfold Aerodrome, the home of BBC’s Top Gear program for many years.

The meeting place for West Sussex balloon flights is a private field situated 5 miles north of Petworth off the A283 adjacent to the Blackwool Farm Trout Fishery. It’s on a 130 acre country estate, with ample parking grass.
