Please note that Virgin Balloon Flights, which has taken over our flight operation here in the South East, has its own launch site locations than vary from those below. See the full list of Virgin’s flight locations on their website here.
Our Berkshire balloon flights are primarily flown launch sites in the Reading area, mainly due to having to avoid the flight paths of Heathrow airport. Our flights normally take place in the morning or early evening, which give the best conditions for flying a balloon and flights are likely to take you over many famous Berkshire landmarks including parts of the River Thames.

During the balloon ride you may see large country houses and estates that are common in the countryside areas just outside of London, boats on the Thames, the Madjeski Football Stadium and much to many people’s chagrin, the M4. You could get a fantastic aerial view of towns such as Reading, Wokingham, Bracknell, Ascot, Henley-on-Thames and Maidenhead dependent on the direction of the wind on the day of your flight.
During the flight your pilot will be in radio contact with the ground crew, who will be following approximately the same course as the balloon in the recovery vehicles which pick up the balloon and its passengers once the flight has landed. Hot air balloon flights don't have set landing places as the course is determined by the wind direction on the day.
